Rita Levi-Montalcini discovered PEA’s mechanism of action via the mast cells

The first mechanism of action which made it understandable why PEA acts as an antiinflammatory agent was via the mast cell, and this was first discovered by the grand lady of neurobiology, the Nobel laureate prof. Rita Levi-Montalcini in the early 90s.

In this section we collect data supporting that one of the mechanisms of action of PEA is via the regulation of the mast cell. PEA is an autocoid which brings overactive mast cells into rest states.
