Protection of skin with PEA cream: nature’s own protection enhanced!
In atopic dermatitis there is inflammation of the skin. Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) is a fatty compound synthetised in our tissues and our skin. PEA and related lipid mediators are endogenous bioactive compounds, considered to play a protective homeostatic role in many tissues: evidence collected so far shows that the anti-inflammatory effect of palmitoylethanolamide relates to its inhibition of inflammatory cells in the skin.
the researches concluded PEA is an expression of a self protecting mechanism in our skin.
Their hypothesis is highly substantiated by the favourable effects of PEA administration in various models of skin inflammation: mice with contact dermatitis, hypersensitive Beagle dogs and cats with eosinophilic granuloma all benefited from PEA treatment in terms of reduced allergic skin reactions.
PEA cream is available containing a high concentration of PEA: 1.5% as PEA cream.
